Muscle-Building Workout and Diet

Hi everyone! Today, I’m talking about BCAA
supplements which are branched-chain amino acids. They’re super popular among people
that work out, but are they really useful? So first, what are they exactly? So protein
are made of amino acids. There are nine essential amino acids which means that our body is not
able to produce them naturally and we need to rely on food to meet our needs. Now, BCAAs
are made of three of those essential amino acids which are valine, isoleucine and leucine.
So some people think that taking a BCAA supplement during exercise will prevent muscle breakdown,
but the main source of fuel during exercise is carbohydrate. It’s more that if you don’t
consume enough carbohydrates, your body will use protein to produce energy and that may
cause muscle breakdown. Also, the main thing that you need to know is that good quality
protein such as meat, chicken, fish, eggs, dairy, peanut butter, even Whey protein supplement
that you may take contain large amounts of BCAAs even often a lot more that what is found
in a BCAA supplement. So if you consume enough protein throughout your day, which you don’t
need that much, we’re talking about 20 to 30 grams of protein per meal. So it’s about
the palm of my hand of chicken, for example. Taking an additional supplement of BCAA will
not provide you any additional benefit. Don’t hesitate to share this video and to leave
us your comments!
