Hi, this is Andy Wilkinson from SkinnyGainMuscle.com,
bringing you another video lesson on how to gain weight if you’re skinny.
And the question we’re answering in this video is:
“What Foods Should You Eat to Gain Weight Fast?”
First of all, why is it so important to learn the right foods to eat?
Well, one of the most important aspects of gaining weight successfully is NUTRITION.
And if you don’t get this part right, it’s very unlikely you’re going to be able to increase
your muscle mass or gain much weight. And most skinny guys want to gain weight in
a way that’s healthy, that does NOT involve getting a fat gut.
They’re not interested in eating a bunch of junk foods that’s going to add too much fat
to their body, or make their skin look terrible. So, learning the right foods to eat to gain
weight is so important, so you can gain muscle mass – gain the weight that you want – look
healthy, and avoid storing too much fat in your body.
Okay – So, for the foods to eat to gain weight, one of the major ‘keys’ to all of this is
understand the 3 major food groups – Which are also called ‘Macronutrients’.
And these are: Proteins, Carbohydrates, and Fats.
And to understand that an effective weight gaining diet will include ALL 3 of these major
food groups. Of course, the TYPE of proteins, carbohydrates
and fats you choose are very important too. But let’s keep it simple for now, and look
at specific foods in each category, that can help you gain weight in a fast and healthy
way. So, in terms of ‘Proteins’, you want to stick
to and focus on things like: Lean cuts of red meat, Poultry (such as chicken and turkey),
Ham, Fish, Seafood, Dairy Products (including cottage cheese and eggs). That’s a good assortment
of proteins. And for Carbohydrates, you mainly want to
stick to what are called “Complex Carbohydrates” – that release their energy more slowly.
Examples of these include: Fruits and Vegetables, Wholegrain Breads and Cereals, Wholewheat
Pastas, Oatmeal, Brown Rice, and Sweet Potato. And for the Fats, you want to stick to “healthy
fats”. And sticking to healthy fats such as Omega-3 and Omega-6 Essential Fatty Acids
– which play an important role in helping you gain weight and muscle as well. And examples
of these are: Flaxseed Oil, Fish Oils, Egg Yolk, Avocado, and Nuts (like almonds and
peanuts). Sticking to “whole foods”, like the ones we’ve
just described, can really help you being able to gain weight if you’re skinny. That’s
not to say that you can’t have the occasional side order of french fries, a chocolate bar,
or a biscuit. But the more you eat these healthy options, the better your results are going
to be. Okay, that brings us to the end of this video.
