Hey, my name is Erin, and I’m a former U.S.
junior Olympics certified swim coach and personal trainer, and fitness is my passion, so I cannot
wait to share it with you guys. The Romanian deadlift. Now, people often forget to work their hamstrings
when they think about working their butt, but that’s probably the most important thing
that you can do. The Romanian stiff-legged deadlift is one
of the best things to do because it works a bunch of different muscle groups, not just
the hamstrings. But, the hamstrings-glute tie-in is extremely
important if you’re looking to get that pop in your tush. So, you’re going to start with your body bar,
or dumbbell, or barbell, whatever you’re going to use. Make sure it’s a little heavier than this,
this is what we’re using to demonstrate with. Your hands should be about shoulder-width
apart, make sure the shoulders are rolled back, nice and tight, feet together, legs
straight. And, you bend over, and come up. Bending over, and coming up. Now, you’re only going to go over as far as
you can stretch, so, I’m not the most flexible person, so that’s as far as I’m going without
straining myself, and come up. Make sure the legs stay straight, the arms
stay straight, and you kind of want to let the barbell hang, so that the weight is pulling
you down. And down, and back up, making sure the shoulders
are rolled back the entire time, back is nice and straight. So, from the side, like that. Piece of cake.

  2. I've always been told by coaches to position the feet shoulder-width apart, and every other trainer I've talked to has also said the same.

  3. Fitness is your passion? You look kind of chubby and sloppy to me. I mean, I'd still let you sit on my schween but you don't look like a fitness chick.

  5. She's a personal trainer?!!! Thats such a lie! If she is I feel sorry for whoever she trains because this is an awful instructional video and should be taken down. Its like watching a barber try to explain how to perform heart surgery. No offense meant to you Erin but either go back to personal trainer school or stick to modeling, you missed about a million important key teaching points. And one more thing, you're obviously confused, 0:31 Its not a ''Stiff leg Romanian Dead lift''! Stiff leg and Romanian are 2 slightly different types or variations of Dead lift!

  6. This is not a romanian deadlift. This is a straight-leg deadlift. Romanian deadlifts bend at the knees. You use your glutes, hams etc and thrust forward to get the weight up.

  8. What about hand position and grip? foot position? shoulders and scaps? How far down should we go? Can one flex too far? What about coming up into extension out of flexion? Is it ok to round the shoulders and back when performing this exercise? What if one has lower back issues? Cute outfit though.

  11. If you look closely she does bend her knees slightly, so this does classify as A Romanian deadlift. You don't have to bend them like crazy, jheeze. A stiff legged one would be with locked out knees.

  12. "Come down and come up" What?? I could've told you this and I'm a noob at the gym. There is NO instruction in this video.

  13. This is fine.
    Most of the so-called trainers who put out these videos have
    to make like they know some secret, of if you do not it their
    way you will hurt yourself or get no benefit. This is fine. You
    start and then you find out what you feel and like when you
    do the exercise and do not worry about being mentally psyched
    out by the know-it-alls – they don't.
