Hey guys
dips are a terrific complement to any chest workout and any triceps workout
you can decide where you really want the tension to lie if you want it in the
triceps or the chest with just some slight adjustments this particular
apparatus has a close grip and the ability to give you a wider grip if I go
wider of course I’m going to hit my chest it’ll allow me to bring my body
closer to the floor and if I stay a little closer it’s going to allow me to
do my triceps I actually like to keep my legs straight during this exercise and I
like to keep the apparatus separated so that I feel it more in my chest I like
to do this as part of my chest workout so the first thing I do is I try to not
stress out up here if I start pulling you know this part of the movement or I
start to get all this energy in this part of my body I’m not going to get the
stretch that’s required to feel this in the part of the body that I want to work
now what I like about this movement is that if you do it the right way you can
really really develop your body just as well as if you were using weights but
there’s a little trick to it so let me show you the trick when I come down here
right the first thing that I want to do is I actually want to push without
moving my body up my elbows are at about at a right angle I actually want to
start pushing against the handles without my body moving up so I’ve
already locked in my chest then I start moving up nice and slow I don’t lock out
completely like this keep the elbows bent so that there’s tension in the
chest throughout the entire movement move down nice and slow elbows are at
about a right angle start pushing up without moving my body up so that I feel
tension in my chest and then I move up first two or three inches of the
exercise is critical push-up without moving the body up and then I move up
exhale on the way down just a little bit and then push up
and finish my exhale as I come up to the top if you can do six or seven reps like
that it equals thirty reps of just kind of jerking around here on the apparatus
so if you want to work your chest keep the handles further apart if you want to
work your triceps keep the handles closer gonna love this exercise thanks

  1. The grip is way to wide Vic. Too much tension on the front delts. Keep elbows in and legs towards the front. Tighten core and dip with the elbows and press out with the elbows concentrating on the Lower chest. Sorry Vic ur advise wasn’t great on this one.

  2. Please show us all your exercises in 3-4 minute videos. I'm 99% certain more and more people will see your vids. Also keep that "vintage" video style. No stupid music, good instructions and just raw bodybuilding. That's what people need in 2019 right now πŸ™‚

Its not about weight ,Its about correct movement ..many guys I see inn the gym,and they just loading everything but short movement ,not correct way..Even the personal trainers teaching them like that ;-(( Its stupid .. I see in my gym many black guys just jerking the weight somehow and after they telling you how to train ;-)))

  6. What happened to the gym Industry ? I am 45 ,and we do not have before internet and others social media ,and we still training smart .. couple magazine and nothing more ..

  7. My friend come back now from gym training legs ,and telling me what happened to him ,when he squat .. His back is done for couple days.. AS he jump on squat machine ,no warm up even I told him many times ;-))

  8. Its Vince Gironda form ,,The correct way doing dips ..I have outside house station doing pull ups ,and dips and puss ups ,and Doing dips like that ,but cannot get wider
