Muscle-Building Workout and Diet

Training splits I think it’s just a matter
of personal preference when I first started training when I was a teenager I
trained six days a week I trained everybody part twice a week
Monday was chest shoulders triceps Tuesday was legs quads hams
calves Wednesday was back and biceps Thursday repeat start back with chest shoulders and tris Sunday we rested Monday were back in the gym doing it again
we were going all week but you know I was a young kid man I remember uh you got
to understand the first time I went to Metro Flex I got to train with Ronnie
this guy mark who’s Ronnie’s work out partner who got me into working out and Brian Dawson who was the owner of Metroplex and you know trained all of us
and I remember a couple months into it I got trained at the whole summer
for my first competitions and I asked a question I was like man why are we doing it like this and why are we doing so much and mark slapped me in the
back of the head and he said shut the fuck up don’t ask no questions and do
what we do I did and guess what it worked sometimes you just don’t need to
overthink it and uh you know the point there that I’m trying to get across is be
consistent you know hard-ass work and heavy weight
there ain’t no substitute when I start going to school working my way through
school I didn’t have six days a week to to dedicate to the gym you know if I’m
gonna actually get through college and pass so I cut it back to four days a
week and I started studying dorian and you know what he was training well he
would do like you know that one set to failure boom next exercise he was
able to generate enough intensity on that one working set to get everything
he needed to get done so I tried that for a little bit and it worked but for
me and I just want to be in the gym I want to do more so sometimes you got
to go buy feel so I cut back to four days a week when I did that I got bigger
and stronger faster than I ever had all right and then the light goes off
alright ding ding ding all right on to something here you know I’m giving
myself more time to rest and recover I’m each body part every 7 days instead
of twice in six days and it worked so eventually that schedule
turned into you know five days a week reason I did that was I was able to
prioritize my body parts I need to bring up by doing five days a week so if I
need to bring my upper body up I prioritize that on Monday and I train you know my
back or my chest or whatever it was I was focusing on to bring those up you
know shoulders was my first priority to bring up you know if you got Crazy Legs
man you got to have broad shoulders or it ain’t gonna work so I brought my delts
up got them capped off next thing I need to do I need to bring my back up so I
came up with a plan I prioritized my back training and it took a few years
but I brought my back up all those things came up I started winning big
shows Johnnie and I trained together the first
time I believe in 2001 people asked well how did you you know compete against
each other and worked out together the answer is very easy it’s just a mutual
respect when we’re in the gym I’m looking at him and I’m like this is my competition
right here you know if I can’t beat this guy I ain’t got a chance at winning the
show what happened on the stage we never brought to the gym you know I have too
much respect for the man and as a bodybuilder and most importantly as a
friend it don’t hurt today so I’m gonna just go what we got If I didnt train with that intensity and train
heavy and you know do what I do I would never have been a pro bodybuilder you
know people want to criticize oh why you do this and that well you know what it works
for me and the bodybuilding it’s not rocket science guys it’s about getting
these much blood into the muscle as possible when you’re training working
that muscle to failure tearing it down and then recovery recovery is proper
nutrition proper supplementation and plenty of rest and go back to repeat
repeat repeat it’s just being consistent with those things year after year after
year it’s a long marathon and you know they want to your form and this and that you know what my
form I’m in control of the weight at all times you know so you use momentum I don’t use
momentum dude I’m in control of the weight and all I’m doing is I’m trying
to do as many repetitions with a maximal amount of weight I can handle until I
can’t do it anymore then I rest recover and do it again and
I was in a seminar one and somebody kind of challenged me on that and I said
you know let me put it to you this way how many National Championships have you won none how many Pro shows have you won how many arnold classics have you won how many mr Olympia’s you
won exactly but you’re telling me I’m doing it wrong you got to figure out
what works for you and once you figure it out stick to it

  2. "But Braaaa-aaanch, you coulda won the Olympia if you used proper form!" – Armchair experts, probably ๐Ÿ˜‚

  3. This is not bodybuilding , swinging weight too heavy for them and not even contracting the muscles? Sounds more like ego lifting than bodybuilding

  4. "STFU and dont ask no questions" You cant argue with those old school guys or the results. Great Video M&S!

  5. this guy is a gym warrior. Whether you like his training style or not, it worked for him and his work ethic is definitely one of the craziest in the business

  6. To everyone criticising his form, you've to understand that his mind muscle connection is on another level compared to ours. Look ay him. Clearly it's working for him.

  7. M&S can you write this video's important point . Branch talking very fast and other people very hard understand he.

  8. My god I love this man. Intensity of it's highest order !!! How I wish I could train with someone like him. Absolute Legend ๐Ÿ™Œ

  9. Lol yeah it worked for him because heโ€™s a genetic freak. Look at all the injuries him and Ronnie accumulated. Thinking that there isnโ€™t some sort of correlation between that and their style of sloppy training is just preposterous. Condoning this type of training is just irresponsible.

  10. Itโ€™s hilarious when some people make fun of how Branch trains, ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ show respect soy boys!

  11. Need a new Branch + Johnnie workout video with Godsmackโ€™s โ€œWhen Legends Riseโ€……..GIT SOME

  12. Great advice from a great champion body builder God Bless you brother. Thank you for the advice actually that's the same thing Arnold Schwarzenegger said

  13. I would've loved to have been there at the seminar where the DOUCHE bag that called him out. HAHAHA. Everything is different for each individual person. The same diet wont work as well for one person as it does for the next. Branch's style of training wont work for everyone like it does for Dorian and Jonny J. Stick to what works…. and repeat!

  14. For the judge, he was good not for audience, no body talking about him after his retirement everybody talking about Kevin Levrone, Markus Rรผhl, Flex Wheeler ……they are real Legends !!!

  15. SaLuTe To ALL Bodybuilders!
But there's a Greater Appreciation for those 6'0 and above! Shoutout To The "Big Bad Wolf!" ๐Ÿบ

  16. Only person that can criticize is another champion bodybuilder of more success.

    Ain't many mind

    Cool dude

  17. How he won a pro i will never know , terrible looking physique, no flow or symmetry what's so ever . He trained hard tho I'll give him that

  18. ูˆุงุงุงุงุงุงูˆโš˜โš˜โš˜โš˜โš˜

  19. So many people talk about Branch and Johnnie about form. Like Branch said,…' win some trophies and money, then come see me".
And hes right. Get your stuff together, and compete, win shows, then fly to Texas, and tell Branch, and Johnnie Jackson, " I told you so.'. But until then,… keep lifting and eating. ๐Ÿคฃ

  20. Branch Warren is a beast I would love to train with Branch.Once u get past the burn u will go far & beyond.๐Ÿ’ฏKeep up the good work Branch.

  21. Mr. Branch Chain Amino Acid..โ€ where you been brother? Love this guys workout videos. Always motivational. Cheers mate ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ

  22. Never critique any professional's size. Or anyone lifting in general. Because one day, you may be critiqued. And you may not like what someone may say about you. #poundsomeweights

  23. All that heavy lifting screwed him..never understood why he couldnt have been smarter
Couldve went as long as dexter but no branch always had to curl 80s and shoulder raise 100s..smh

  24. Sort of what I thought. People criticize Branch's style. But they ignore the poundages he's throwing around. It all makes sense. But heavy and intense only works for enhanced. It's not good advice for naturals.

  25. โ€œHow to train like a body builderโ€ something moronic about this title lol. And then listening to some pot belly moron who looks like a croissant

  26. I like how he talks about recovery being proper supplementation, proper rest, and proper nutrition. He forgot to leave out the key factor, proper drug stack.

  27. This is steroidbuilding, bodybuilding should be training and building muscle with only the genetics and ability god has given you from when you was born not enhancing your body with drugs and manipulating hormones. His training form is horrendous he is not in control of the weight at all he moves the weight with momentum and nothing else if he trained this way without drugs he would not stimulate any muscle growth. He could train 1 million times harder 1 million times stricter on diet and recovery but without the steroids would not look a fraction the way he does or have those strength levels the gear is the biggest facter with these guys that's a fact. If I took steroids and it give me 1lb of extra muscle mass or and extra 1lb on my strength levels I wouldn't feel like I've not earned it no matter how hard I believed I was training and dieting ect I'd rather know I've earned it with 100 percent honesty and integrity and nothing else. Fair enough if it's not cheating if everybody he is competing against is using steroids but it's cheating yourself because without the steroids it's a fact that you wouldn't look that way or be that strong and I'd rather die knowing I achieved everything myself than with guilt knowing it was because of steroids

  29. That's a smart bro split. If you're going to follow a bro split at least make one intelligently. Most people don't want to progress and get strong on the main compound movements (which is what you should do if you're natural) so at least follow something remotely good and not the typical chest bis on monday, back tris on tuesday, shoulders on wednesday crap…

  30. 1:12 u can tell from his facial expression wen mark told him this he wanted to cry๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  31. His argument at the end was really stupid. It just shows that he is so arrogant that he thinks that his methods canโ€™t be improved.

  32. im sorry but your pro wins and your achievements still doesn`t mean you are right, this training style worked for you not for everyone else as you said and still gave you tons of injuries , so the people who criticize your style are not stupid or ignorant and they dont have to be pro bodybuilders to know what qualify as good (ideal) training and exercise.

  33. Intrestingly, in any such bodybuilding videos, guys who dont lift and dont actually know anything about the bodybuilding process or steroids will come along and go like "oh its steroids, its the juice blah blah so its justified that I look like shit". People dont realise, these Olympians have superior generics and steroids probably contribute 5 to 10% to what they do. They dont realise what kind of diets these guys go through all year around or how much they sacrifice to make it here. Even saying these words doesn't do justice to how it really is to be a competitive bodybuilder. The only way to understand it is to actually try it. I dare you average joes here commenting about steroids to take up bodybuilding, naturally or otherwise and see for yourself. Try steroids too, see if you just become muscular easily. STFU loosers, you dont suck because he took steroids, you suck because you suck.
