going to talk about the value of dietary protein and the overall meal plan.
Protein is the darling right now with people’s food plans. The idea in this
country (somewhat mistakenly or pseudo- scientifically) is if you want to “be lean
protein” you should eat lean protein and of course this is unscientific. The fact
is some protein in the diet is really reasonable and healthy – maybe 25 or 30
percent of your calories from your diet coming from protein. But your body needs
all of the nutrients. When we eat a balanced diet that includes carbs,
protein, fats, great fresh vegetables and fruits, it knows just what to do with
this. Remember that restriction of calories
decreases your metabolism. Eating a broad variety of foods is what’s right. For
