Muscle-Building Workout and Diet

JESSIE: Hey, guys! My name is Jessie. Newly employed at Yeah, I figured since I’m going to be working
for a fitness company it’s time for me to get in shape, get bigger, really utilize the
program. I’m 5’10”, 140. That’s my starting point. I’m hoping to gain some muscle, get a little
bit bigger, some more definition, and see where I go from here. JEFF: It’s funny because people say all the
time “Jessie’s got a – he’s so lucky. He’s got it so easy. He’s got Jeff as his trainer there all the
time. Jeff can write custom programs for him. He can spot him. He can make sure…” – I’m actually not doing anything for Jessie
and there’s a reason for that. Because I can’t want his success more than
he wants it. If he wants to do this he’s going to have
to figure out a way to do it. He’s going to have to grow up. I get it. there’s a lot of pressure and he’s doing this
on the big stage, and has a lot of people that are watching him try to make these changes. But at the same time I tell him “Jessie, those
same people, they’re supporting what you do. They’re watching you change. They’re rooting for you. And that should be enough of a motivation
to keep you on track, and to make sure that you don’t let them down. Most importantly, you don’t let yourself
down.” JESSIE: For the longest time I was never really
willing to put in the work. I kind of just wished that it was given to
me, but I realized that it’s time to throw childish things aside, it’s time to throw
the gummy bears away so that I can grow up and start eating like an adult. Start acting like an adult. Understanding that what I want is not going
to be given to me. I have to work for it. JEFF: There was nothing holding Jessie back
except himself. For me, it’s been really awesome to watch
as that disappears, as his confidence grows, and he starts to realize just what he’s capable
of. The only thing I told him was, I said “Jessie,
if you’re going to start then make sure you don’t stop. Make sure you see this all the way through.” JESSIE: It’s been such a positive experience
and I appreciate that. I have to thank Jeff for lighting a fire under
my ass, and guiding me that way. But in all honesty, I’m not doing it for him. I’m not doing it for his followers. I’m doing it for myself. While having them behind me is unbelievable,
and it’s great to have that support, the most important thing for me is to do it for myself,
and for my own health, and for my own happiness. I’ve got to say: I’m not done yet.

  2. Congratulations Jesse! Nice work. I also gained 6kg in 2 years time and I also concluded, that i`m not done yet. 🙂

I`m training all alone at my home, learned "how to" from videos like ATHLEAN-X™, working only on barbells, dumbbells and own body weight, no machines and no cheating. 😉
Thank you Jeff, for your contribution. Thumbs up!

  3. Jesse, this chronicle of your journey from where you began to where you are now — and beyond — is an inspiration. Thank you for your courage to share it with so many of us!

  4. i started with 55kg at 14yo now after a year and half im with 70kg just calisthenics and protein, still have arount the same bodyfat, but that could also be because of im growing. Did this all at home alone.

  6. Last year in December I was 119 pounds. I'm starting this year at 157 pounds. I was a hard gainer and thought I couldnt gain any weight. I was ripped, from all the workouts I did but had no size. I was close to giving up but then I started eating right and putting more thought into my exercises. I started drinking protein and creatine. Didn't even notice the changes until I stepped on the scale and I was almost 140 pounds. I've always had a bird chest and now I can finally see results from all my hard work and learning. If I can do it. You can do it too.

  7. The most important thing for me is that I see how every little improvement I make in terms of self-esteem, motivation and developement of behaviour has an incredibly powerful impact on the world around me, my friends and family. It works the other way round too, if you're down you're pulling everybody around you down, too, but you don't realize it as long as you're going downhill instead of taking the effort to go uphill.

  8. He could have at least tried to flex in the pre- photo.. seriously, you had amazing results coming, no need for the marketing style deception.

  9. The trick to losing weight is eating an entire bag of sugar free gummy bears. Guarantee you will lose weight in 24 hrs.

  10. Man, this is so inspiring, I've been training hard, but I gotta work harder to grow, being a hard gainer is a challenge, but it is also an opportunity to prove ourselves

  11. I got a great friend in the Army who has been helping me make gains on our deployment just 2 months ago i could only bench 195 once now i can do 275 1rm and 225 for reps proud of you Jesse cause i was in the same position of self doubt until my friend came along and helped me achieve gains and this is only the beginning

  12. Jessy, at the moment I am just like you was back in the day. I am skinny and the build of an ectomporph. I saw this video and am inspired at what you achieved and I think I can achieve that too with the right mind set. I wanted to let you know that #respect #athlean-x

  15. 5'1"0, 140lbs?
I'm 5'11" and about 120, fancy a challenge Jeff? Gained 7 pounds or so in the last year, eat 80% clean (little bit of shit in there) and sleep well. And god knows I try.

  16. i’m late but you can tell this channel is legit because this isn’t some “woah i gained 50 pounds and am now shredded” one year transformation. it’s only 12 pounds but you can tell that those 12 pounds have made a huge difference and they’ve been painstakingly earned

  17. Jesse is truly doing it right.
Awesome progress, encourages me to stay the course, we are all on the same journey!

  18. Jeff !… You're right !….
Jesse's muscles have grown a lot.
But his beard as well . I'm sorry to say this Jesse!.." The hard truth is that you didn't gain 12 pounds of muscle. Shave your beard and weigh it in the weighing machine."
    My deepest condolences😄lol
