Everywhere you turn, there is someone talking
about CBD right now. The hard part is when you’re looking at the
effects of CBD on the body, there’s only so much that can really be talked about. You see, there’s a lot of censorship because
it’s so close to Cannabis, it’s very difficult to talk about CBD. So, what I wanted to do in this video is I
wanted to break down the science of how it truly works in your body. I want to do this because I feel like there’s
a lot of misinformation out there, and I also feel like we need to understand that endocannabinoid
receptors in our body are a natural thing, and endocannabinoids are a natural thing that
are existing in our body. So in this video, what you’re going to see
is ultimately an overview, an overview of what happens inside the body with endocannabinoids
with different adenosine receptors, with different serotonin receptors, glutamate, dopamine,
all the things that actually make your body go around when it comes down to endocannabinoids. So first off, what we have to talk about is
what exactly is CBD? All right. CBD is the non-psychoactive component of cannabis. So CBD oil is usually extracted, and it’s
the component that doesn’t have an effect like THC. So, it works on different receptors within
the body. Most of us know this by now because we see
influencers all over the place talking about CBD, and they’re all acting like crazy experts. The thing is is it goes a lot deeper than
the fact that it’s just not THC. Okay? There’s a lot that goes on in the body. So, how exactly do these endocannabinoid receptors
work within the body? See, we have two different receptors. We have CB1 and CB2, and these are all throughout
the body. They’re not just in the brain. They’re not just affecting the psychoactive
portion of the body, okay? They are affecting the brain, but also even
more so, throughout the course of the body in our inflammatory system, in our immune
system and everything that we need to know there. CB1 is found mostly in the brain, however. So CB1 is the one that affects your mood,
it affects emotion, it affects a lot of things when it comes down to your appetite, even
coordination, movement and pain that relates to your brain and how you perceive it. And then we have CB2. CB2 works on the body, works on inflammation,
works on the immune system, and there is a correlation between CBD1 and CBD2. They communicate, of course. But one is more so for the brain and one is
more so for the immune system and for the body. What you’re going to find is that THC activates
both of these, but here’s what’s interesting. Do not believe all of the marketing that says
that CBD oil only affects CB2 receptors. That is not true. That’s not how it works, okay? CB2 receptors have to do with the immune system
and inflammation like I said. But CBD oil does not directly affect CB1 nor
CB2 receptors. It doesn’t affect them at all. See, what it does is it influences the body
to naturally utilize more of its naturally occurring endocannabinoids. See, endocannabinoids are things that our
body can create, but we also get them from food and various polyphenols that we consume. So, totally normal natural thing. Whether our body uses them is a completely
different story. So, CBD oil influences the body to utilize
more of the endocannabinoids that are already existing. Therefore, enhancing how those endocannabinoid
receptors, particularly CB2, actually utilizes them. So, it’s not directly affecting the receptors
the way that THC would. But how does it actually work in the body? I’m talking about receptors, and that’s all
fine and dandy, but what physiological effect does this have? Well, here’s the interesting thing. Even though you have a natural utilization
of these endocannabinoids, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the endocannabinoids are the end
all, be all. You see, it’s the by-product of this. It’s the utilization and the activation of
vanilloid receptors, of adenosine receptors, and serotonin receptors that ultimately give
us this sensation, and the endocannabinoids result that we are seeking when we looked
at a CBD oil. Okay? So, the vanilloid receptors end up working
with body temperature. They end up working with helping you regulate
that system within the body. Also helping you regulate inflammation through
different ways. If we have a higher core body temperature,
it’s going to affect our inflammation. If we have a lower core body temperature,
it’s going to affect our inflammatory levels within the body. So these vanilloid receptors play a key role,
and they are directly correlated with the endocannabinoid receptors. But here’s the really interesting one, adenosine. How many of you have ever had a cup of coffee? How many of you have ever had caffeine at
some point in your life? Chances are you have. So, you know that excited, excitatory feeling
that you get. Well, what happens with adenosine is you end
up blocking adenosine with caffeine. Caffeine blocks the adenosine receptor, which
therefore means that you get more excited because adenosine would normally make you
relaxed. So, if you have a lot of adenosine in the
body, you’re relaxed. You might even be sleepy, but caffeine blocks
that receptor, which therefore makes you more energized. Well, CBD affects the adenosine receptor by
increasing the activity of it. So you might be wondering, “What does that
mean? It’s going to do the opposite of caffeine?” Well, kind of. It’s going to do the opposite of the bad effect
of caffeine in some ways. You see, when we actually have caffeine, we
are basically blocking that adenosine receptor, and therefore triggering a secondary response. We’re triggering a secondary response of excitatory
catacholamines. What that means is adrenaline, noradrenaline,
epinephrine, all of the catacholamines that cause us to have this heightened sense of
awareness and alertness. That’s what’s giving us the energy. It’s not specifically the blocking of adenosine. So, when we do allow adenosine, we don’t have
the opposite of epinephrine or adrenaline. They’re really isn’t an opposite of it. It’s either just one or off. You don’t go fully polar opposite with it. So basically, you’re slowing down the epinephrine. You’re slowing down the adrenaline and allowing
your body to relax. So, it’s not like you’re going to have the
negative effect where you’re super, super-sleepy. You’re just getting a calming effect which
is why so many people like utilizing CBD oil. They just end up getting confused as to why
it’s actually doing it. Then we have to talk about dopamine receptors. Dopamine’s a simple one. Dopamine is the reward system within the brain. So by activating dopamine, it ends up allowing
us to feel better all the time. But it allows us to naturally utilize dopamine. We’re not taking exogenous dopamine. We’re not taking drugs. We’re not taking recreational drugs, things
that are actually causing us to have more dopamine. We’re naturally increasing the body’s utilization
of existing dopamine by enhancing the receptors’ sensitivity. And in that same vein, we also talk about
glutamate. You see, glutamate is something that is excitatory. Glutamate actually triggers energy, but too
much of it is a bad thing. Too much glutamate can lead to a seizure,
it can lead to all kinds of bad things. Glutamate is not what we want a lot of. However, the right amount of it can trigger
energy in the right places. So, when you think about the calming effect
of adenosine making you calm, and then you combine it with a specific energy effect of
glutamate. You actually have a really unique thing. You’re calm, but that glutamate is activating,
energizing specific parts of the brain. Specific parts of the brain that are correlated
with memory and retention, so thereby you could have the right energy in the brain,
stimulating creative process, all while feeling calm. So feeling calm, relaxed, anti-inflamed, yet
still awake in terms of your brain. So, very, very powerful when it comes to that. Then, of course, we look at the serotonin
receptors. What ends up happening is CBD activates something
known as 5-HT1A. 5-HT1A acts in a very similar way as an isosorbide,
the serotonin reuptake inhibitor. It allows our body to create more serotonin
and utilize it more efficiently. So, that’s going to help you feel good. Serotonin’s just a feel good neurotransmitter
in the first place. And lastly, cancer. I want to talk about this in a little bit
more depth in another video in the future, but basically we have specific signals that
happen in the body when it comes down to cancer. Yes, specifically I’m talking about GPR55. In this case GPR55 is something that triggers
minerals and vitamins to be retrieved from the bones to ultimately feed cancer. That’s why when people get cancer, a lot of
times they end up getting weaker bones. A lot of times they end up increasing their
risk of fractures and things like that. So what ends up happening is CBD reduces the
body’s ability to retrieve nutrients from the bone to feed cancer cells. This is just one of the many ways that CBD
has an effect on cancer, and it’s one of the most researched. But of course, I’ll do another video in the
future that talks about how this actually has a specific effect on a multitude of different
things when it comes down to cancer. So, I hope that this video broke down CBD
as a general overview and helped clear up some of the crazy marketing that’s out there
surrounding CBD. I can totally understand why Facebook, why
YouTube, why so many different media properties and media buying properties have made it so
difficult to advertise, and that has to do with the fact that people are really CBD in
the wrong way, and they’re marketing it poorly, and they’re flat-out lying. So this video is just a general overview to
help you understand what happens in the body and why it does so. As always, keep it locked in here on my channel. If you have ideas for the future videos, let
me know in the comment section. I’ll see you soon.

  2. My local pharmacy has started selling CBD and because I have severe anxiety I wanted to try it and see if it works. But they refuse to sell it to me because idk it’s from marijuana plant. Does CBD have an age limit?

  3. I like the relaxation I just don't like the high and paranoia that THC brings on. Back in the day it didn't matter my body handled it better. Now it just doesn't agree with me like it used to when I was in my 20's but now I just can't handle THC I get the shakes really bad. I'm already a nervous person with anxiety so this may help with my nervousness and anxiety.

  4. He's basically telling you to mix CBD with your morning coffee, which is the reason why I'm willing to make a purchase of it in the future. Sounds great.

  5. I've used two bottles of this. Started to make my body minor aches and pains calm down. SURPRISE my 50 year old PTSD nightmares subsided and I started waking up rested and that's a big deal. I'm shopping for a reliable source now. This is a major step forward.

  6. Thanks man..all this time i have been needing cbd and have been taking thc.. Thanks.. keep up the good work.

  7. Given that it's an oil, does it matter that I no longer have my gallbladder? I heard if you don't have a gallbladder your body won't properly break it down. Thanks.

  8. Boom boom boom ! Thank you for this. Packed with useful info on cbd. Refreshingly educational. Thanks 🌸

  9. FINALLY a video that explains CBD oil so well! I’ve been taking CBD oil 500mg non THC for a week. I’ve noticed a difference with my anxiety…it has gone down. Hoping it will continue to go down & help me with insomnia as well. 🙌🏼 Thank you for taking your time & making this educational video. Much appreciated. ☺️

  10. Best video about CBD so informative. My favorite brand for CBD Hemp Oil is Calm by Wellness, it actually works!!!

  11. This is going on my 2nd month using CBD oil and I was also taking the gummies I've got one more of the gummies I dont know if I want to spend another 30 bucks on the gummies. I guess I feel a little better more mellow.

  12. CbD while walking your French bulldog wearing 80s skinny Jean's that hug your belly button on your way to art school in your JDM car….trendy mofos.

  13. Great more drugs that will deregulate your limbic system and make you cold when you dont take it. The reward is not worth the expense and price you pay when you quit. Rebound anxiety…that is if the expensive crap even works. I took half a 50 dollar bottle of 1000mg oil and felt absolutely nothing. I can't imagine this crap working on anyone unless it's a placebo

  14. I was wondering if any of my health gurus were going to talk about CBD or cannabis. Another great video Thomas. Thank you.

  15. My mom is really old school and still thinks that Marijuana is still a "bad drug". She has really bad knees and I really want her to try CBD. I know CBD doesn't make you high or anything but even if I explain that to her she still wouldn't fully understand and will refuse to try CBD just because it has something to do with Marijuana. I really just want to help her walk again 🙁 Also, English is not her first language and we are asian so……

  16. oooh, now I have to go make a cup of coffee. My body goes to sleep when I drink it. Before bed I make coffee and can get 1/2 drank then, lights out. 🙂

  17. I have tried (unsuccessfully) to compare cost of the different CBD oil and the values..
some companies. sells 3000mg bottle for $180.00, another sells 1.69floz for $89.00 per bottle, another sells 500ml for $69.00 per bottle..???? ..How does that compare to each other?? what is the conversion factor? Thanks for your help

  18. CBD has changed my life, but idk how long I’ll be able to continue getting it & keep up on a daily dosing regime as I’ve been doing for 2wks, cause it’s EXPENSIVE!! My CBD vape pen died @ work & I didn’t have my CBD tincture w/ me to dose that way, so I’m definitely hurting this morning & cant wait to go get a dose in me & go to bed!! I suffer from chronic pain from fibro, RA & OA, as well as severe anxiety. CBD has helped all the above so much that I can actually take my child outside to play & enjoy it as opposed to dreading it cause my pain & my anxiety levels are both tolerable & I have some more energy using it as well!! My rheumatologist keeps trying to push cymbalta on me & perceived double the dose (30mg bid) what the psychiatrist originally prescribed a few months ago! I still refuse to take it, & often debate over stopping the lyrica he put me on cause I believe those types of meds (was on neurotin previously to no avail) do the body & nervous system far more harm than good in the end!!
Don’t mind my grammar… been up for going on 30hrs after only having a 2hr nap prior & I’m exhausted!!

  19. My son won't eat anything and doesn't talk, he is 3 years old and the Drs say he's autistic, would this oil help him to eat, talk and grow like a little boy should?

  20. CBD Oil is everywhere. In the news, neighbors and co-workers are taking it; you see it on Billboards and TV, it’s all over Facebook and even the Baby Boomers are taking it. There’s a lot of hype, but is it real? As a 54 year-old male, I have multiple health issues, including Anxiety, Depression, and constant pain from Rheumatoid Arthritis. I’ve been on various medications for a lot of years, and the pills took my issues from a 10, down to about a 9….not much help at all. That having been said, make no mistake; we are living in the "Wild West" era of CBD. With no Federal regulation (yet) there are a lot of companies out there making a lot of claims, and while some are legit, a lot are not. After a few days of research, I found a company that I felt comfortable with and made my purchase. I took the Oil (CBDPure) under my tongue twice a day and was told to give it a month, take it at the same time each day, and not to take my medications 2 hours before or after. After following the routine for 2 weeks I felt…..nothing. Then, in the middle of the 3rd week, it happened. I was at work dealing with a stressful situation (that would normally have kicked my anxiety into high gear) but I was perfectly calm! I have never experienced that kind of mental clarity and control in the middle of a stressful situation like that, and to be honest, if the only benefit I got was this calmness, I was sold for life. That was the 1st thing I noticed. During week 4 I woke up one morning, climbed out of bed, and as I walked to the shower I realized I wasn’t walking like an old man in pain with every step I took. My Rheumatoid arthritis pain was GONE! I can’t begin to tell you what a difference the lack of Anxiety and pain in my life have made. By the end of week 5 my Depression was just a distant memory, and by the end of week 6, I found myself in a good mood all day, every day. At this point all the benefits have continued with no side effects. My mind, body and spirit are all in tune, and in my 54 years I have never felt better. The Company I purchased from is CBDPure. If you’re looking for relief, I think they can help you as well.

  21. As a military member, it’s so infuriating that I’m barred from the benefits of using CBD oil.
They’re totally okay with prescribing anti-depressants & anti-anxiety meds that come along with potentially debilitating side effects, but if I want to use a natural non-psychotropic CBD, then I lose my job with a dishonorable discharge.
    Absolutely infuriating.

  22. The only time I have ever hear a great explanation on CBD and its properties. And, I have never heard of its ability to block cancer cells…my deepest appreciation to you!

  23. When you say "glutamate" – is this glutamine ? gluta-something …..  I know glutathione is very important for energy

  24. Get an old potato sack made from hemp, put it into an industrial 50 ton press.
The resulting oil (liquid) that is squeezed out under high pressure is CBD oil.
CBD oil is an 'inert' 'waste' product previously disposed of down the drain by the hemp industry.
Although some 'small' medical studies were conducted around 2006 (Oxford university UK used only 58 test subjects, no follow up studies have been done since), there is absolutely no conclusive medical, or scientific evidence that CBD oil acts on any receptors in the human body or contains any 'Active Ingredients'.
Any 'physical' benefits felt by those people using it are therefore thought by the medical profession to be a 'placebo' effect (physiological).
CBD oil is the latest in a long line of products being sold for an 'immoral' amount of profit by companies using outrageous and untrue statements concerning it's 'supposed' medicinal properties.
As long as you buy the product having been fully informed with all the 'true' information about CBD oil, if it works as a physiological pain reliever for you that's great…go for it.
If CBD oil were the wonder substance these videos are claiming it to be, it would have been available on UK prescription years ago through our National Health service…..it isn't, and there aren't any plans to make it available. Why?
Because CBD oil doesn't contain ANY active ingredients that impart ANY medical benefit whatsoever!

  25. Speak to one, and speak to all.. 99% of the people may feel impressed with the big words, but won't remember 90% of the talk. This makes the talk impressive, but un-impactful. The question the speaker should ask himself is "what do I want the audience to take from this?"

  26. It's rude of you to say, " …they are all acting like crazy experts". They might be one just like you trying to share their knowledge in good intention. Stop talking like you know all and have some regard for others. Not cool. Never going to watch your videos. First and last.

  27. Outstanding. Much of that went clear over my head but so much of it also made a lot of sense. I need to save this and watch it again sometime. Excellent informative video 👍🏾

  28. Personally I love CBD Oil I have been using it for a long time it has helped improve my health. I made quite a few videos about my experience using CBD Oil. Anyone who want to learn more about CBD is welcome to watch them 🙂

  29. The only website i ever ordered weed from an actually got it is dankbuds247.com, been scammed over 5times, save yourselves fam

  30. So, CBD oil. Can I just continue smoking weed and get the same benefits? (albeit with the 'high')

Looking into starting a CBD regimen, if I can wean off THC a bit, that'd be great too.

  31. i love the benefits of CBD i did it for 3 weeks and went off it for 2 weeks and it was an amazing difference now im on it all the time

  32. i can say for sure that CBD makes your mind less foggy in a sense and your concentration and your ability to retain info when you read or someone talking too you is far more easier.

  33. Okay, watched the video. Good info however, can you just say if cbd oil is good or bad and if it DOES or DOES NOT help with depression and anxiety? Dumb it down for this dummy (me). Thanks

  34. For medical use I would recommend using a dab pen and vaping pure CBD crystals in it.
It's very effective and you will feel it much faster compared to ingesting it while being less costly (your body absorbs about 15% of the CBD when eaten but about 45% of it when vaped so you need less CBD for the same effect). If you want to use oil then make it yourself with pure CBD crystals dissolved in oil. The products on the market are far too expensive in my opinion. In Europe it's about 20€ per 1000mg of pure CBD, so a daily dosage of 25mg is only 0.50€.

  35. This is the best explained video presented in plain English that I have ever seen.
I will refer people to your video as you explain it way better than I ever could

  36. Could someone help me with how Glutamine relates to cannabis here? He says "In the same vein we have Glutamate" or something along those lines and then says that with the right amount, combined with the calming effects of CBD, a very euphoric balance can take place. My question is, does CBD cause this perfect ratio somehow? And if so then can it be overdone through CBD use?? Sorry for the long question here. Looking to help out with my lady's anxiety by utilizing CBD, but I need to know what's going on with it first. Thanks! <3

  37. Thank you for this video. I am under Chronic Pain Management and my percocets are you working the same way after 5 years of usage. I will start taking CBD oil very soon. I hope it works. I feel a little bit more comfortable with taking it now after viewing this video. I purchased my CBD oil from an independent pharmacy (not CVS). And this pharmacy get their CBD oil from a very reputable manufacturer/producer.

  38. Your biceps are too large in comparison to your chest. Arnold had big arms but bigger chest so it looked proportionate. Your out of proportion dude. Read Arnold’s body building book .

  39. Relaxation is exactly what I feel after eating hemp seeds. I feel calmer but not sleepy, happily relaxed whole day just after 30g of hemp seeds. I did not try the oil.

  40. From my research CBD kills cancer although you need THC to pull it into the CBD brain receptor #1. CBD as a molecule is too big to penetrate the receptor without THC pulling it in

  41. I started vaping weed about a year ago and my life has improved quite drastically. I have gained around 20kg and I can function much better.

  42. This guy is absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for delivering informed, articulate and clear videos. You have inspired me in taking better care of my body and interest in health over-all. Great work! Thank you!

  43. It’s not called CBD 1 and CBD 2…. It’s CB1 and CB2 and THC works with CB1 and cbd works with CB2 which is the body receptor. CBD is minimal in mental health effects…that’s the THCs job
